The 2024 vintage in McLaren Vale was marked by a challenging yet rewarding growing season. After a mild winter and a wet early summer, the region experienced a long, dry ripening period with some intense heat, leading to smaller berries and concentrated flavours. Yields were generally lower, especially for Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, though Grenache performed particularly well. Despite the lower volumes, quality was high—wines show vibrant fruit expression, fine structure, and excellent regional clarity, offering elegance and balance rather than sheer power. Result is that I had to pick my fruit a touch later. More serious and complex Grenache. Full of Joy and fun with a massive undertone of serious spice and fruit.
